Apply a mold stain remover, such as household soap, white vinegar or bleach, and use a toothbrush to brush off the surface mold. Be very careful when dealing with mold on your carpet. Experts say silk and woolen carpets should always be cleaned professionally. Bleach tends to be the most effective remedy against mold stains. Experts recommend using a solution of one part bleach to three parts water. Always try the solution first on an inconspicuous area to make sure to make sure the area first. However, there are a lot of materials that cannot be bleached. After all, you don’t want to remove the mildew stains just to find bleach stains in your carpet or on your furniture.

If you don’t want to use bleach try removing the stains with lemon juice or white vinegar. It is best to soak a cotton pad with lemon or vinegar before putting it in the stain. After soaking the area for a while, remove the cotton bad and maybe sprinkle some salt on the area. This will help boost the effect of the acid. You can also try putting the impacted furniture or carpet out in the sun. For small stains, you may want to try applying a 3 percent hydrogen peroxide solution. The sun rays will bleach the stain; however, they may also bleach carpet of the fabric of your furniture. If possible, use a steam cleaner on your carpet. Dry the carpet as much as possible to prevent mold from growing again in the future. If the mildew stains persist, bring the items to a professional cleaner.
